Your First VisitCharlotte, NC
Welcome to Midtown General and Cosmetic Dentistry
Dr. Saint Jean and the team are pleased you have chosen our office for your dental needs. We are eager to meet you. Our friendly and professional staff work together to provide the highest quality of treatment and ensure your visit is comfortable, productive, and relaxing.
Your initial visit to Midtown Dentistry establishes the foundation of our patient-provider relationship. During this visit, we gather relevant information about your dental history and give you the opportunity to express your concerns to Dr. Saint Jean and our team. For more details about what to expect during your first visit, please browse our website. You will find practical information, such as a map and directions to our office, practice hours, payment policies, and more. You can also learn about our dedicated team members and initial visit procedures.
As instructed during your initial phone contact with our patient coordinator, please complete your New Patient Forms prior to your visit. Below are some key items to help you prepare for your dental appointment with us.
New Patient Visit
The initial exam is very thorough, please be prepared to spend a minimum of 90 minutes with us. This visit will include a complete review of your medical and dental history; we will also take all the necessary x-rays, intraoral and extraoral photos. We will provide oral cancer screening, periodontal health evaluation, and examination of your teeth and soft tissues. Following this exam, Dr. Saint Jean will discuss the findings with you and develop a treatment plan addressing your short and long term dental needs.
If time allows and there are no conditions like periodontal disease that prevent it, we may provide a professional dental cleaning the same day. However, it is often necessary to schedule a separate appointment for the cleaning.
X-rays
We recommend bringing all current radiographs from your previous dentist, including bitewing x-rays taken within the last year and panoramic or FMX series taken within the last 3 years. Current x-rays are necessary for a comprehensive exam and accurate diagnosis. If they are not available or covered by your insurance, new x-rays will need to be taken, which may incur out-of-pocket expenses.
Please forward digital x-rays to [email protected]. If you require premedication before dental work, let us know in advance of your appointment. Also, remember to take all prescription medications as directed by your physician.
Dental Benefits
Our relationship is with you, not your insurance carrier. As a courtesy, we will verify your coverage and submit claims on your behalf; however, it is ultimately the patient's responsibility to understand their coverage.
Most plans include co-payments, deductibles, and other expenses that must be paid by the patient at the time of the appointment. Dental insurance typically covers some, but not all, of the cost of your dental care.
Fees and Payments
We strive to provide accurate information regarding your portion of the bill, based on details provided by your insurance company, which may sometimes be incomplete. Our fees are competitive with other practitioners in the area to ensure accessibility to dental care.
We have partnered with Care Credit, Sunbit, and HFD (Healthcare Financial Direct), offering financial flexibility to afford necessary restorative dental work without stretching your budget.
Thank you for choosing our practice for your dental needs. We look forward to a long partnership. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us at (704) 307-4525.
Sincerely,
Your Dental Team at Midtown Dentistry
